Damages 2.01 Review: Destroying Patty Hewes

True to the precedent set by Damages’ complicated and twisted first season, there’s so much going on during the second-season premiere “I Lied, Too,” I almost feel sorry for any viewers trying to jump in without having watched or at least read recaps of the first season.

Meet the Season Two Cast of ‘Damages’

As we fans of mature women-centric television prepare for the Season Two return of Glenn Close’s complicated Damages tonight (“I Lied, Too” at 10pm EST on FX), here’s a slew of photos to remind us who the old cast members are — Close, Rose Byrne, Tate Donovan, and Anastasia Griffith — and to get us pumped about the newcomers: Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, Oscar winner William Hurt, and former Deadwood star Timothy Olyphant.

‘Damages’ Lands William Hurt

Talk about a casting coup. When the FX legal drama Damages returns in early 2009, it will have not one, but two major movie stars in the cast. The first one is actress Glenn Close, of course, who has starred in the series since Day One.
Now, FX reports that Academy Award-winning actor William Hurt (A History of Violence, Broadcast News, Children of a Lesser God, Kiss of The Spiderwoman) will also become a regular presence during the show’s entire second season.
