Christina Applegate Talks Breast Cancer with Oprah

Breast cancer survivor and Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate dropped by The Oprah Winfrey Show recently to discuss her highly publicized treatment, a double mastectomy to avoid chemotherapy, in response to learning she had the disease this summer.
Applegate’s discussion with the daytime talk-show host will air on Tuesday, September 30, to kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The same show will feature other breast cancer survivors, as well as a visit by Susan G. Komen Foundation and 5K Race for the Cure founder Nancy Brinker.

Oscar-winning actress Tatum O’Neal has a date with the queen of daytime talk TV today. As you might recall, the Rescue Me cast member, a previously recovered drug addict, was arrested for buying crack and cocaine on a New York City street back in June.
O’Neal’s scheduled appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show today will mark her first full interview since that drug bust. She’ll reportedly discuss not only the very public — and very embarrassing, I’m sure — ordeal, but details about her recovery and also an unexpected conversation she had with Farrah Fawcett, who reached out to her.

Oprah Winfrey and Team USA Olympians Open New Season

Any daytime TV watchers or talk show fans out there? If so and you like The Oprah Winfrey Show, I just received a nice advance video clip for the series’ latest season premiere, which was taped last week and debuts today.
Not only will Oprah be joined by over 175 Olympians from Team USA during the broadcast from Chicago’s Pritzker Pavillion in Millennium Park, but the show will also begin broadcasting in high-definition for the first time.
