‘In the Motherhood’ and ‘Samantha Who?’ Team Up

Tonight at 8pm EST, ABC will introduce the TV-watching world to its latest sitcom, In the Motherhood, which stars Will & Grace’s Megan Mullally, Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Cheryl Hines, and Worst Week’s Jessica St. Clair.
The actresses play Rosemary, Jane, and Emily, three parents who are supposed to represent familiar mother-figure stereotypes. Based on the Web series of the same name that starred Leah Remini (The King of Queens), Jenny McCarthy (Two and a Half Men), and Chelsea Handler (Chelsea Lately), the show should have a respectable built-in audience. Christina Applegate Talks Breast Cancer with Oprah

Breast cancer survivor and Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate dropped by The Oprah Winfrey Show recently to discuss her highly publicized treatment, a double mastectomy to avoid chemotherapy, in response to learning she had the disease this summer.
Applegate’s discussion with the daytime talk-show host will air on Tuesday, September 30, to kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The same show will feature other breast cancer survivors, as well as a visit by Susan G. Komen Foundation and 5K Race for the Cure founder Nancy Brinker.

‘Samantha Who?’ Casts New Love Interest

When Samantha Who? returns for its second season on ABC, Christina Applegate’s lucky Samantha Newly will have a new potential love match. The equally lucky guy is James Tupper, who’s previous series Men in Trees just ended on ABC.
TV Guide and Michael Aussielo report Tupper is onboard for about three episodes thus far. Moreover, the actor plays a character named Owen, a philanthropist who can’t help but capture Sam’s attention with all that charm and money.
