Two sitcoms, one a classic and one more recent, as well as a nice spooky drama make up this week’s Grrl-y DVD releases. The comedies are Season Four of Marlo Thomas’ fun late 1960s show That Girl and Season One of the Lea Thompson series Caroline in the City, which ran on NBC from 1995 to 1999.

Rounding out the list of new boxed sets is a favorite of mine, Eliza Dushku’s short-lived Fox paranormal drama Tru Calling. The second “season” only had a puny six episodes, one of which never aired on the network. That helps explain why it was a good bet to finally put all 26 of the series’ episodes in one compact collection.

There’s no doubt that Eliza’s current sky-high hotness quotient, thanks to her upcoming midseason show Dollhouse, also affected the decision to make this release available now. It comes too late for me since I already bought the individual sets a long time ago. But the series is highly recommended for those who need to catch up on the actress’ work before her new show premieres early next year.
