Dollhouse: ‘The Target’ in Photos

The second episode of Fox’s new Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku series Dollhouse is called “The Target,” and it will air on Friday, February 20, at 9:01pm EST.
During her latest adventures as an undercover mind-wiped operative, Echo (Dushku) assumes the identity of something called an “ultimate outdoorswoman” for a mission that requires her to head out into the great, wide wilderness and be the dream date for a man who loves the outdoors. There, she ends up getting a memorable lesson in hunting from both perspectives: the hunter and the hunted. I’m gonna venture a guess that the …read more

Dollhouse: Series Premiere ‘Ghost’ in Photos

Joss Whedon’s latest television project, Dollhouse, premieres on Friday, February 13, at 9:01pm EST, right after Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in its new time slot.
First up is the revamped pilot “Ghost,” during which we’ll meet and learn all about undercover operative Echo (Eliza Dushku), one of a group of so-called Actives who live in the secret facility referred to as the Dollhouse.
Actives are “a member of a highly illegal and underground group of individuals who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas. Hired by the wealthy, powerful and connected, …read more

Sneak Some Peeks at ‘Dollhouse’

Sneak Some Peeks at ‘Dollhouse’

The big night is slowly but surely approaching for the series premiere of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse. With just under two months to go, Entertainment Weekly has posted an exclusive sneak peek at the show’s reworked pilot.
The footage features star Eliza Dushku as Echo after she gets her memory wiped in the special chair. However, costars Fran Kranz and Harry Lennix, who play Dollhouse techie genius Topher Brink and Echo’s handler Boyd Langton, respectively, figure most prominently in the two-minute video.
A couple more Dollhouse clips follow that will also definitely get fans revved up for the series. The …read more

E! Online’s Kristin recently had an amazing opportunity that many inhabitants of the Whedonverse would absolutely die for: the chance to stop by the set of Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated upcoming Eliza Dushku series Dollhouse.
Watch the following video clip of the visit to learn — from the mouths of Joss and Eliza, no less — such intriguing details as what the deal is with the show’s whole memory-wipe premise. There’s also plenty of other information, which some potential viewers who hate spoilers might rather do without knowing just yet.
And, as an extra bonus for Grey’s Anatomy fans, you can’t …read more

Early Buzz: ‘Dollhouse’ Reviewed

Early Buzz: ‘Dollhouse’ Reviewed

Lucky Time columnist James Poniewozik has seen the revamped pilot of the Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku series Dollhouse, and he gives the premiere episode a fairly optimistic review.
Says the television writer of the screener he watched: “[T]he first episode … is well enough written to be absorbing. Writing a crime hour doesn’t seem like Whedon’s thing, but the episode is tight, suspenseful, with intriguing psychological twists and flashes of Whedonesque humor.”
Of course, that positive comes with a potential negative, namely that “Dollhouse as conceived (a heroine plays a different “person” every week) is less a series concept than an …read more

Photo Gallery: Meet the Cast of ‘Dollhouse’

Dismal, soul-crushing Friday-night death slot aside, I’m still looking forward to Joss Whedon’s midseason Eliza Dushku vehicle Dollhouse, which premieres next year at 9pm EST on February 13. I hope the series defies fate and somehow manages to score decent ratings, along with its Grrl Power companion The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the show that will precede it at 8pm and go head-to-head with CBS’ paranormal hit Ghost Whisperer.
In advance of the big launch date, take a few minutes to get familiar with the Dollhouse cast in the photos following the jump. They’re a good-looking bunch for the most …read more

Dollhouse: ‘Echo’ Episode in Photos

Dollhouse: ‘Echo’ Episode in Photos

Just last month, Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon announced his plans to create a new, improved first episode for the 2009 Fox midseason show. Apparently, the original pilot called “Echo” (the same name as Eliza Dushku’s lead character) could potentially come across as too confusing and/or gloomy to launch the series as effectively as possible.
No arguments from me. I’m all for anything that will make Dollhouse soar in the ratings and among fans. But, if you’re a little curious about what the episode “Echo” looks like, you can sneak a peek in the photos following the jump. …read more

New on DVD Today: Caroline, Tru, and That Girl

Two sitcoms, one a classic and one more recent, as well as a nice spooky drama make up this week’s Grrl-y DVD releases. The comedies are Season Four of Marlo Thomas’ fun late 1960s show That Girl and Season One of the Lea Thompson series Caroline in the City, which ran on NBC from 1995 to 1999.
Rounding out the list of new boxed sets is a favorite of mine, Eliza Dushku’s short-lived Fox paranormal drama Tru Calling. The second “season” only had a puny six episodes, one of which never aired on the network. That helps explain …read more

Script Snippets for New ‘Dollhouse’ Pilot ‘Ghost’

At the end of July, series creator Joss Whedon informally announced that he would be revising the original pilot for his upcoming Fox midseason drama Dollhouse.
The new premiere episode is currently called “Ghost,” according to the header on the draft script, and you can take a look at parts of it in the “casting sides” following the jump. TV industry insiders call the material casting sides, which is basically just another name for sections of a script given to actors auditioning for roles.
I haven’t had a chance to go through all 47 pages yet, but I’m setting aside some …read more

More Photos of ‘Dollhouse’ Star Eliza Dushku at Comic-Con 2008

Either the photographers present gave Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku much love at the recent San Diego Comic-Con International 2008 or the woman was just everywhere. Whichever was the case, I’ve got yet more photos of the actress after the jump taken during the Dollhouse Panel presentation on Saturday, July 26.
She’s even got that Lucy Lawless thing going on, pulling faces left and right in a few of the snaps. I would love to know what was being discussed at those moments. Too bad the photos don’t come with an audio track.
And for those who might not know, …read more
