So, whaddya do when a machine kidnaps someone you know and/or love? If you believe Sarah Connor and Derek Reese, you do nothing because it’s all just a ploy to get at John Connor. And, of course, they’re right.

On “The Mousetrap,” the September 22 episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Sarah and Derek intervene when Cromartie kidnaps Charley’s wife Michelle, and John is pulled between his two girl friends Cameron and Riley.
Speaking of which, anyone else have thoughts that there’s something way up with this Riley character? Can’t wait to find out if my suspicions are on target.

I hope everyone is liking the new extra broody John Connor as much as I am. More problems, more maturity, more interesting. Meanwhile, Cameron is more contemplative, more direct, and just plain freakier than ever, kind of like her charge John (and a gazillion other teenagers around the planet). Still, “Automatic for the People” is a bit on the bland side in terms of overall action, at least until the final segments. Another resistance fighter arrives from the future to deliver a foreboding, cryptic warning that prompts Sarah to investigate a nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, a thoroughly gloomy John goes back to school and immediately befriends a fellow student named Riley. Complications ensue.
