Sally! Tina! Laura!
No surprises here, folks. It was a case of the usual — or should I say “predictable” — suspects during Sunday night’s 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The victorious actresses who took the shiny, not-so-little statues home are at the top of each category in bold.

And the 66th Annual Golden Globe Actress Winners Are…

Last night, NBC aired the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards, sponsored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. At the end of the celebrity-filled celebration, it turned out to be a great occasion for women named Kate Winslet and Laura.
Winslet scored two awards for Best Film Actress in a Drama and Best Film Supporting Actress — for Revolutionary Road and The Reader, respectively — while Laura Linney and Laura Dern topped the nominees in the television categories Best Drama Mini-Series or Movie Actress and Best Mini-Series or Movie Supporting Actress, respectively.

Lipstick Jungle: The End of the Road

Lipstick Jungle: The End of the Road

I’ve triple checked the last few days’ news from my usual television sources to no avail. So, in the absence of a last-minute reprieve, it appears we Lipstick Jungle fans have reached the end of the two-season road for the show.
Next (and apparently last) up is tonight’s finale “Chapter Twenty: La Vie En Pose,” which, judging from the plot description, doesn’t have anything final about it whatsoever. Does this mean fans will be left hanging with no closure for their favorite character(s)? Could be.
During the episode, Nico makes an appearance on NBC’s Today Show, which causes complications …read more

TBS Gives ‘My Boys’ Season Three

TBS Gives ‘My Boys’ Season Three

Fear not, My Boys and Jordana Spiro fans. Home network TBS announced on Tuesday that the sitcom about Chicago-based, 20-something sportswriter PJ Franklin will live to see a third season. The run will have a total of nine episodes and will premiere in the first quarter of 2009.
Now all we have to do is wait patiently until then to learn the resolution of the Season Two wedding cliffhanger. It was during the finale that almost-groom Bobby (Kyle Howard) finally began to examine his feelings for PJ, who, unfortunately, had already struck up a relationship with his brother. …read more

‘Rita Rocks’ Set for Fall on Lifetime

‘Rita Rocks’ Set for Fall on Lifetime

There’s good news for fans of television shows that pack a laugh. Lifetime recently announced it has a new sitcom coming this fall, the network’s first comedy in an entire decade, believe it or not.
Called Rita Rocks, the half-hour series will star The King of Queens alum Nicole Sullivan as one Rita Clements. Rita would appear to have it all — whatever that means — since she has a husband, a job, and two daughters. But, of course, that only sounds so great on the surface.
Underneath the façade, Rita’s life is in need of some serious rejuvenation. …read more

Courteney Cox’s ‘Dirt’ No More

Courteney Cox’s ‘Dirt’ No More

If you’re a fan of the Courteney Cox dramedy Dirt, which aired on basic cable’s FX, you’re out of luck as of yesterday.
That’s when TV Guide reported some very sad news revealed to the publication by the actress herself: FX has declined to renew the tabloid series for a third season.
I can empathize with anyone who might be upset over this development since it seems like the show has been gypped after the Writers Guild of America strike severely shortened its second season, decreasing the run to just seven measly episodes from an original order of thirteen.
I wouldn’t get too …read more
