‘Battlestar Galactica’s Mary McDonnell on ‘The View’

Everybody knows Battlestar Galactica is strong enough for a man, but made for a woman, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many kick-ass varieties of the latter, including Mary McDonnell’s Laura Roslin, president of the Twelve Colonies.
BSG returns tomorrow, January 16, at 10pm EST to present the last eleven episodes of its current fourth and final season (Boo hoo!). Fans have a treat in store this morning, too, when McDonnell and her costar Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama) drop by to chat with the ladies of The View.

Battlestar Galactica: The Unboxing of D’Anna

Well, was it as good for you as it was for me? Battlestar Galactica has been dragging a bit — okay, quite a bit — this season, so it sure was nice to see a familiar feisty face again. And, no, I don’t mean Starbuck, who had zero direct impact on Friday night’s “Hub” episode.
Instead, all appreciation and praise is reserved for the only Cylon who can outfox Number Six with even more style and conniving. Boxed at the end of last season for her obsession with the Final Five — she had an insatiable curiosity to …read more

Starbuck a Doctor?

Okay, maybe not Starbuck the character, but mega popular Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff has just been tapped to appear on another popular basic-cable series as — yes — a doctor.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Sackhoff, whose signature Sci Fi Channel series is currently in its last season, will join the cast of the naughty FX medical drama Nip/Tuck when it returns in 2009. She’ll play a doctor named Theodora “Teddy” Lowe, described as a woman who gets on Sean McNamara’s (Dylan Walsh) last nerve.
Actually, the Reporter specifically says she “challenges” him, but we all know what that means …read more
