It’s Official: Christina Applegate Is Beautiful

Well, duh!
People magazine has named Samantha Who? star and recent cancer survivor Christina Applegate the most beautiful person of 2009, according to TV Guide.
Other notable aesthetically pleasing people on the list include Halle Berry and the women of 90210 — which is just jumping on a bandwagon, of course — in the Top Five, Dancing with Stars breakout entertainer Julianne Hough at ninth, and new U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama at twelfth.

The CW Renews 90210, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Top Model

But what about the fantastic Privileged?!
The title says it all. The CW has just announced its early renewal of most of the network’s current crop of shows: 90210, America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Supernatural. Notably, 90210 is the only rookie in the bunch.
The CW’s Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff states in the official announcement that each of the picked-up series has “contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity” as the network strives to become “a destination for young women.” I guess young dudes are left out in the cold if …read more

Paley Festival 2009 Adds 90210, Desperate Housewives, Dollhouse, Swingtown

Paley Festival 2009 Adds 90210, Desperate Housewives, Dollhouse, Swingtown

Back in January, I wrote about Fox’s Fringe and HBO’s True Blood scoring coveted spots in the lineup of television series making an appearance at the Paley Center for Media’s popular annual Paley Festival.
Now comes news that the female-led shows will be joined by their fellow Grrl TV programs 90210, Desperate Housewives, Dollhouse, and Swingtown during PaleyFest 09. And, yes — I just wrote Swingtown, so how about a big “Woot!”
Additional shows scheduled to participate include the canceled ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies, the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory and hit rookie crime procedural The Mentalist, the FX sitcom …read more

‘90210’ and ‘Privileged’ Upcoming Schedule Changes

‘90210’ and ‘Privileged’ Upcoming Schedule Changes

How good was that fight between Charlie and Will on Privileged last night, huh? I believe that was the last episode for Michael Cassidy, who plays Charlie, as a series regular. And, there are other changes in store for the show, as well.
Yesterday, The CW announced that it’s shuffling the network’s schedule, and hence the airdates of 90210 and Privileged, to make room for the forthcoming seasons of Reaper and America’s Next Top Model. The details follow, so alter your TV-viewing calendar accordingly.

Beginning Tuesday, March 3, freshman drama 90210 moves to a new 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET timeslot …read more

It’s a Fight on ‘Privileged’ Tonight!

The CW teases that Will and Charlie will come to physical blows on tonight’s fresh episode of Privileged called “All About Confessions.” Now, that’s something to look forward to, even if I can’t begin to guess who’s gonna win.
Plus, new 90210, Fringe, and Law & Order: SVU.

90210: ‘Love Me or Leave Me’ in Photos

Don’t you just hate people like the 90210 characters who live in sunny, warm environs while your region is being ravaged by snowstorms and achy cold? I know I do, and the preview photos for the next episode of the show, January 13th’s “Love Me or Leave Me,” aren’t helping.
The CW subtitles this one Teens in Love, although a major plot thread focuses on the continuing tension between Debbie and Tabitha, especially after the latter gives her grandchildren a brand-new car as a surprise gift. Grandparents rock!
Elsewhere, Annie and Ethan hang out — alone — at Tabitha’s Palm …read more

90210: ‘Hello, Goodbye, Amen’ in Photos

Oops! My bad. I totally missed the images from last night’s 90210 episode “Hello, Goodbye, Amen” in my inbox. If you need a quick review of the so-so winter premiere, check out my thoughts here after checking out the following photos.
The best and most authentic thing about the entire episode, in my opinion, was once again Shannen Doherty’s engaging and completely believable performance as Brenda. The series just elevates to another level when she’s around, so showrunners definitely made a brilliant decision getting her onboard, despite her allegedly difficult past.
Now on to the photos after the …read more

90210 1.12 Review: Rich and Stupid in Beverly Hills

90210 1.12 Review: Rich and Stupid in Beverly Hills

Spoilers, Spoilers, Spoilers Ahead!
After watching last night’s “Hello, Goodbye, Amen” episode of 90210, I have to wonder if showrunners are serious about viewers believing Harry Wilson is intelligent enough to be the principal of an entire high school. If so, he’s got to be one of the dumbest administrators in the history of secondary education, too.
In short, here’s what happened on the episode, which takes place right after winter break at West Bev:
ANNIE
Suspicious Annie and her mother Debbie finally convince totally clueless Harry (He’s my son! I just know he is! I feel it in my gut!) …read more

90210, Privileged, and SVU Are Back!

The CW promised big plot developments when the last fresh episode of 90210 aired last year. So, when the show returns tonight at 8pm EST with “Hello, Goodbye, Amen,” the network had better deliver.
Also in store for Grrl TV fans are new installments of The CW’s underrated Privileged and NBC’s crime procedural behemoth Law & Order: SVU.
