Saving Grace: ‘You Are My Partner’ Midseason Finale (8-25-08)
Some fans may not realize this, but the August 25 episode of Saving Grace, “You Are My Partner,” doubles as the series’ midseason finale. Although the second season has a total of fifteen episodes and only seven will have aired after the 25th, Holly Hunter and her castmates are going on hiatus and will return with the remaining eight installments later.
The big question is when since TNT hasn’t announced a set date that I know of. Whenever it is, the show will be back with fresh material; chopping seasons in half is a common practice on basic cable.
“You Are My Partner” happens to be a pretty good place to take a break because the official description makes it sound very intense. Fans might welcome a rest after watching it.
The plot continues the Bobby storyline from the previous episode “Are You an Indian Princess?,” where Butch was distressed to have his partner suddenly and swiftly go undercover without so much as a warning to his colleagues, wife, or family. We’ll learn why during “You Are My Partner.”
Don’t read ahead if you don’t want to know!
Apparently, Bobby is investigating a complex incident that involves a Mexican woman left at a hospital by a white supremacist. The situation is so sticky, it could possibly affect local legislation regarding illegal immigration.
Saving Grace is definitely packing a wallop with its plots this season, so you can see why this potentially moving yet depressing subject matter might leave viewers okay with taking a short break. Preview a “quiet” scene from the episode below featuring Grace and her angel Earl.
Saving Grace airs Mondays on TNT at 10pm EST.

Wow, what an episode. I tell you, this one totally rocks the midseason. Kenny Johnson went where I’ve never seen any actor go before. His performance was awesome.
My favorite quote from Michael Chiklis (The Shield). “Completely dedicated to the proposition, Kenny Johnson.”
I thought he was outstanding as Lem. Ham, Ham, Ham. What can I say? I’m speechless. More, more more.

Ham, Ham, Ham.
You totally repeated the opening line to my episode review, Dolla! I’m not posting it until tomorrow, but I agree with you 100 percent.
I was a bit disappointed that whoever wrote the description got part of it wrong since there was nothing about Bobby in the episode. Otherwise, what a fantastic hour of TV this episode was.
Now I can’t wait for the show to return, especially after the stunner at the very end. A++ from me!
