Samurai Girl: Jamie Chung Interview
We at Grrl TV can’t wait until Samurai Girl, the new ABC Family action drama based on the hit young-adult novel series, hits televisions everywhere beginning on September 5. Samurai Girl will then air in six one-hour installments over the course of three consecutive nights.
The six-episode miniseries stars Jamie Chung as 19-year-old Heaven, an adopted Japanese young woman who learns her adoptive father is a member of the roundly feared Japanese mafia called the Yakuza. Even worse, this very same guardian may be responsible for the murder of her brother. Talk about family secrets!
After learning these shocking details, Heaven trains in the ways of the samurai, I’m guessing to kick some major butt and get some big-time payback. This is why Grrl TV loves Samurai Girl, sight unseen — nothing says “Don’t screw around with me” like a nice beatdown, right?
Check out a recent TV Guide interview with Jamie, the lovely 25-year-old American actress of Korean heritage who plays Heaven, in the video following the jump. I’ve got very good feelings about this TV event.
