New on DVD This Week: A Little Jeannie and ‘Soul Food’
This week, a classic sitcom and a premium-cable drama based on a big-screen movie both hit stores. The first DVD release is the fifth season of the 1960s whimsical sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, starring well-matched Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman.
The second boxed set is the fourth and final season of the Showtime movie adaptation Soul Food. Not only is the series extremely woman-friendly, but its focus on an American black family and community sets it apart, as well.
