Miriam Shor Swings by Craig Ferguson
I don’t think it surprises anyone more than me that CBS’ dull bicentennial drama Swingtown is performing so well in the ratings. But it is, which means the show isn’t going anywhere too soon. *sigh*
In any case, I have a treat for those who, unlike me, are actually enjoying the series. Star Miriam Shor, the actress responsible for bringing prude Janet Thompson to a semblance of life on each episode, dropped by the Late Late Show to talk shop with host Craig Ferguson last Friday.
After Ferguson stopped making fun of the Swingtown clip CBS made available, he and Shor discussed stuff like Detroit and Italy, where she has lived, and cars. Even more interesting, however (at least for me), while researching Shor’s background, I realized something I’d forgotten — she played the character Yitzhak in a fave musical of mine, John Cameron Mitchell’s rockin’ Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Of course, I like her infinitely better now…
