Jay Leno Gets a Visit from Gillian Anderson
Lovely and very pregnant X-Files icon Gillian Anderson dropped by The Tonight Show earlier this week to chat with host Jay Leno about the second feature film based on her paranormal FBI series, The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
The movie hits U.S. theaters in wide release this Friday, July 25, and I don’t need anybody to reassure me that it’s going to be a megahit. How can it possibly miss with two perfectly cast longtime stars and such a loyal and massive international fan following, not to mention a thoroughly intriguing plot?
A standalone sequel to 1998’s The X Files: Fight the Future, the second movie reportedly doesn’t require viewers to know anything about the TV show’s mythology, although a little awareness can’t hurt. It takes place during the present, six years after the series ended, and revolves around the disappearance of first one woman, an FBI agent, and then another. A retired Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) is asked to investigate, and, of course, he manages to drag along his former partner Dana Scully (Anderson), now finally focusing on her medical career exclusively, for the thrilling ride.
Take a look at the two-part Tonight Show interview after the jump, and then, by all means, run — don’t walk — to your local theater on Friday to catch the flick.
