It’s Official: Shannen Doherty Shall Return to 90210
A press release was just distributed today confirming what equal numbers of Beverly Hills, 90210 fans have been either anticipating or dreading: Shannen Doherty will definitely reprise the role of Brenda Walsh on The CW’s forthcoming spinoff 90210.
According to the words of the network itself, Walsh, last seen leaving to study acting in London, has established a successful career as a stage actress and now alternates between living in London and New York. She’ll return to West Beverly Hills High School on 90210 to grant the school’s request that she serve as the guest director for a musical production.
Even better for those of us who were hoping this would happen ever since it first leaked that Doherty was in negotiations to make a high-profile return, the actress will be on hand for more than one episode, although the exact number hasn’t been announced.
This is great news if you ask me, so I wonder if/hope series star Lori Loughlin is choking on her previously reported prediction right now. Doherty is definitely getting the last laugh on this issue, and my interest in watching the show has also multiplied threefold.
