The L Word star Pam Grier has a birthday today, May 26. Born in 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the gorgeous actress turns 59 years young.
Normally I wouldn’t write a post about an entertainer celebrating a birthday. Yet Pam Grier is different.
Not only has she built a successful film and television career in an industry that wasn’t very welcoming to people of color back when she got started in 1970, but as a result of her ability to do just that, she has become an icon to scores of women and men from all types of backgrounds. So, happy birthday, Pam!
