Good News? Two More ‘Sarah Connor’ Scripts OK’ed
Most of us Sarah Connor Chronicles fans have heard the recent grumbling about the implications of the show’s much lower ratings this season. Just last week, the word on the Web was that the series could be in very real danger of getting canceled very soon.
While there still hasn’t been any official announcement to completely alleviate those fears, it counts for something that Terminator is still around, and FOX has even been ramping up advertising for the series of late. That’s definitely encouraging.
Now, website IGN reports additional heartening news straight from the show’s official network blog, written by the people who actually produce the series. Apparently, Fox has given writers the go-ahead to pen scripts for two more episodes, the show’s fourteenth and fifteenth.
A post from Thursday, October 9th clarifies:
While the fate of the show past production on episode thirteen is still unclear, FOX has given us the go-ahead to write two more additional episodes for this season — fourteen and fifteen.
We are hard at work writing those episodes and await news of a potential pickup for the full “back nine” (additional episodes to complete the season) in the near future. We’re crossing our fingers (and dotting our i’s) that we’ll have more good news to share with you soon…
True, this isn’t an order for the traditional back nine to go with the original order of thirteen episodes. That development would make the second season a full one at 22 episodes. Still, we fans have to take whatever we can get in the face of the harsh (and undeservedly dismal, I might add) ratings. I’m personally hoping this latest news is just a sign of many more good things to come.
