‘Dollhouse’ Star Eliza Dushku Has a Lot to Smile About

Words cannot convey how absolutely perfect the casting of Eliza Dushku is in Joss Whedon’s forthcoming Fox series Dollhouse, which landed on the network’s 2008–2009 roster, just as expected, for a midseason debut.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Tru Calling veteran stars as Echo on the new show, an operative in a highly secret group whose members regularly have their memories, thus their personalities, erased.
The central dramatic tension in the plot arises when Echo suddenly begins to gain awareness of her past activities, thereby endangering her position in the clandestine facility called the Dollhouse, where she lives alongside other memory-wiped agents.
Dushku was in New York last week for the Fox Upfront festivities, and as the title states, she has a *lot* to smile about these days. People have been buzzing like killer bees about Dollhouse from the very first time it was mentioned way back at the end of October 2007, and now that the excitement has been rewarded with a series pickup, the anticipation and adoration is just phenomenal.
We’ll definitely be hearing tons about the show and its star in coming months, but now take a few moments to check out a couple of photos after the jump taken during her trip to New York last week for the 2008 Fox Upfront held at Wollman Rink in Central Park. What a doll (who’ll kick your ass if you mess with her)!

I couldn’t agree more, Bhav. “Dollhouse” is one of the two or three new series I’m looking forward to most. And there’s no doubt Eliza is going to rock as Echo.
