‘Desperate Housewives’ Welcomes Neal McDonough
Nice! The newest regular on ABC’s Desperate Housewives is a fine, fine addition named Neal McDonough. He will play a new resident on Wisteria Lane who will eventually wind up romantically entangled with one of our divas, as if anybody needed to state that explicitly.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the diva in question is none other than Nicolette Sheridan’s Edie Britt, a character fans were led to believe was leaving the drama-filled lane at the end of the most recent season. Yet, the series will flash forward to five years in the future when it returns, so Edie could very well be back by then. I certainly hope so, as she’s always been one of my feisty favorites.
For those who are unfamiliar with McDonough, he starred on television’s Traveler, Medical Investigation, Boomtown, and Murder One, as well as in the hit miniseries Tin Man and Band of Brothers. He has also appeared in numerous acclaimed feature films, such as Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers and alongside Tom Cruise in Minority Report.
ABC has done itself and viewers a great favor by bringing the talented actor onboard. I can’t wait to see how his character gets along — or not — with the ladies.

Lots of people agree with that. I’m interested in seeing what the show does with the time jump, though, so I’ll withhold judgment … for now.
