So Long, ‘Unusuals’: Creator Says Amber Tamblyn Show Over

Amid all of the great developments this past week concerning a slew of unlikely renewed series comes some sad news for one freshman I like.
Noah Hawley, the creator of ABC’s rookie cop dramedy The Unusuals, has announced the bad news from his Twitter account that the Amber Tamblyn series “will not be back for a second season.” After thanking fans for their “amazing support,” he reminds everyone that there are four remaining Unusuals episodes (of ten produced), which will begin airing on Wednesday, May 27.

The Unusuals: Amber Tamblyn’s New Show Premieres

Tonight is the night that ABC will finally debut The Unusuals, the new cop dramedy starring Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Joan of Arcadia’s Amber Tamblyn and created by Bones producer and writer Noah Hawley. The time to tune in is 10:02pm ET, immediately following the great lead-in Lost.
Tamblyn plays NYPD Detective Casey Shraeger, recently assigned to the Homicide unit after an earlier stint in Vice. Yay! Just this week, ABC released the premiere date for one of the new shows I’m most looking forward to next year: Joan of Arcadia and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum Amber Tamblyn’s twisted cop dramedy The Unusuals.
Look out for Amber and her fabulous co-stars Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau, Josh Close, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Kai Lennox, Terry Kinney, and Adam Goldberg to make their series debut on Wednesday, April 8, at 10pm EST.

Amber Tamblyn and Alyssa Milano Shows Picked Up

ABC recently announced the network is turning five potential shows into full-fledged series. We Grrl TV lovers are in luck because two of those new pickups star fan favorites Amber Tamblyn, of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Joan of Arcadia popularity, and Alyssa Milano, of Charmed and Who’s the Boss? fame.

Former Joan of Arcadia and General Hospital star Amber Tamblyn paid a visit to ABC’s news program Good Morning America on August 4 to help promote her new movie, the sequel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.
Follow the jump to get a look at the actress outside of the show’s Times Square studio in New York City this morning. If you’re a fan and you’ve been wondering when Tamblyn will return to the small screen, that might happen sooner rather than later if her new series, the cop dramedy The Unusuals, gets picked up for a full season.
