‘Desperate Housewives’ Closes Season 5 in Style Tonight

‘Desperate Housewives’ Closes Season 5 in Style Tonight

It’s almost time for the May 17th two-episode, two-hour fifth-season finale of Desperate Housewives, my dears, and I am ready.
During “Everybody Says Don’t” at 9pm ET:
Gaby bumps into someone she knows and discovers life has not been treating them well.
Lynette gets mad at Tom yet again after she learns what his latest next best thing is. Trust me or keep reading — it’s really not that big a deal.
Orson threatens to blackmail Bree, which is so not a good idea, dude — she’ll bite it off and then spit it out, if you know what I mean, only with …read more

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

It seems May 8th’s Dollhouse first-season finale “Omega” was indeed too little, too late. The show scored its lowest overnight ratings yet, giving the sci-fi drama a third-place finish in the 9–10pm ET hour, behind CBS’ Canadian crime procedural Flashpoint and NBC’s long-running primetime newsmagazine Dateline.
Overall, Team Whedon & Dushku brought in 2.75 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating/4 share among viewers aged 18–49, which is down an entire rating point and almost two million viewers from the February 13th series premiere “Ghost.” That initial episode attracted 4.72 million viewers and earned a 2.0/6.

Terminator: Finale ‘Born to Run’ Preview

Terminator: Finale ‘Born to Run’ Preview

The time has arrived, Sarah Connor fans. Tonight at 8pm ET, Fox will present Terminator’s second-season finale, and most believe series finale, “Born to Run.” The episode has the tagline description “Fate Is Changed Forever,” which certainly doesn’t bode well if you believe in double meanings.

‘Sarah Connor’s John Henry Does ‘Life’

‘Sarah Connor’s John Henry Does ‘Life’

Terminator fans can catch series regular Garret Dillahunt, better known previously as the cyborg Cromartie and currently as John Henry, in another kind of (endangered) show tonight at 9pm ET. That’s when he’ll reprise his recurring role on NBC’s excellent cop dramedy Life, where he plays ruthless and cunning Russian criminal Roman Nevikov.
The episode, “One,” is Life’s second-season finale, and similar to Dillahunt’s present main gig on Fox, it could very well also double as a series finale. *sigh*
At least the actor gets lots of attention since his character is the central crook of the episode. Roman’s …read more

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Life sure is a roller coaster when you’re Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse.
Despite no new episode of CBS’ hit Ghost Whisperer yet again on Friday, April 3 — the third week in a row — both sci-fi series failed to achieve any notable ratings gains. How incredibly frustrating in the case of Terminator, which premiered the fantabulous “Adam Raised a Cain,” the next-to-last episode of its second season and most likely the entire series, although it pains me to note the second reality.
“Adam Raised a Cain” attracted 3.35 million total viewers, down 12 percent from the previous …read more

Terminator: ‘Adam Raised a Cain’ Preview

Terminator: ‘Adam Raised a Cain’ Preview

We are getting down to the wire now, my fellow Sarah Connor Chronicles fans, both on the show and in real life. I don’t have to mention anything about the series’ poor chances of survival for a third season because we all already know. So, let’s just talk about the next-to-last episode of Season Two and very possibly the entire series.
Coming up tomorrow night, April 3, at 8pm ET is “Adam Raised a Cain,” and judging from the two preview clips alone, the episode is going to be quite intense and satisfying.
The official description reads: “When John attempts …read more

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Tie It Up

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Tie It Up

Now this is getting fairly interesting. There was still no new episode of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer last Friday, March 27, which only served to make the performance of Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse all the more noticeable. Not only did my favorite series of the pair — Terminator, of course — experience a slight improvement in total viewers, but the Joss Whedon show had a downturn that put it in a virtual tie with the older show.
Do I sound snide if I say I don’t mind that outcome one bit? I hope not — I …read more

Terminator: ‘Adam Raised a Cain’ in Photos

Did “Last Voyage of the Jimmy Carter,” last week’s March 20th episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, rock or what? I didn’t think the series had one that emotionally moving in it, but it sure was satisfying being proven wrong.
With only three episodes left now and the Internets filled with certainty the show is going to be canceled, I continue on my quest refusing to believe that’s true. The reason why includes the intriguing storylines Terminator has yet to wrap up, such as those on the next-to-last-episode of the second season, April 3rd’s “Adam Raised a Cain.”

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Hold Steady

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Hold Steady

There was no new episode of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer on March 20 since the network broadcast a March Madness NCAA men’s basketball game instead. Still, even with that stiff competition and the series finale of Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica premiering at 9pm EST, both Dollhouse and The Sarah Connor Chronicles before it managed to perform well in comparison to their previous episode.
While Dollhouse was off a bit in total viewers, drawing 4.13 million on Friday for “Man on the Street” after attracting 4.33 million on March 13, Terminator saw a slight improvement from 3.53 million on that earlier …read more

Ratings Report: Up We Go for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Ratings Report: Up We Go for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Well, it finally looks like all of the cries of woe and agony are starting to have an impact, and let’s hope it lasts much longer than just one week. For the first time since they made their Friday-night debut together back on February 13, both Terminator and Dollhouse experienced an increase in ratings on March 13 equalling 18 percent and 22 percent, respectively. Woot!
I guess one month was the charm. Yet, oddly enough, I found each series’ episode — The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ “Today Is the Day” and Dollhouse’s “True Believer” — on the weaker …read more
