Witchy ‘Eastwick’ Business Coming to ABC

Witchy ‘Eastwick’ Business Coming to ABC

Lipstick Jungle’s Lindsay Price has a new show!
According to Variety (and all those other websites reporting left and right about which shows are a go for the 2009–2010 season), ABC has given a series order to Price’s pilot called Eastwick.
Based on the film and book of the nearly same name The Witches of Eastwick, the hourlong drama with a paranormal twist revolves around three women — one played by Price, of course — who come into some handy otherworldly powers after their men do them wrong.
I don’t have to say I’m looking forward to this, right?

Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Kim Raver Is in ‘The Box’

There’s more telling news today for fans of NBC’s apparently increasingly endangered dramedy Lipstick Jungle.
Following last week’s development that Lipstick star Lindsay Price has joined the pilot for the promising potential ABC series The Witches of Eastwick as a lead character comes the recent announcement that her costar Kim Raver has joined another equally promising potential ABC series as — get this — a lead character. Whoa!
In Raver’s case, the pilot is for Inside the Box, the network-news project heavily associated with Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes, although she’s just an executive producer for it. …read more

Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Lindsay Price Is a Witch of ‘Eastwick’

This week brings very bad news for fans of Lipstick Jungle.
Although both NBC executives and Lipstick cast members have recently assured loyal followers that the dramedy definitely is not officially over, what are we supposed to think when one of the three stars joins the cast of another high-profile potential series? Certainly nothing good about Lipstick’s future.
I’m referring to the recent development that actress Lindsay Price, also known as Lipstick’s resident fashion designer and incurable romantic Victory Ford, has a new gig as one of the three female stars of ABC’s pilot for the drama Eastwick.
The project is a …read more

More Hope for ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans

More Hope for ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans

Earlier this month, NBC Universal production studio president Angela Bromstad made some uplifting comments about the possible fate of NBC’s endangered dramedy Lipstick Jungle.
First and foremost, she confirmed that the series has not been officially canceled. In addition, she indicated that network executives will likely investigate alternatives to allow the show to stick around longer and return next fall for a third season.
Following on the heels of that nice development is more good news this week. Recently, while chatting with Ben Grossman, Editor-in-Chief of the industry news outlet Broadcasting & Cable, NBC Entertainment executive Ben Silverman stated:

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Gets Welcome Reprieve

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Gets Welcome Reprieve

When you think about it, Lipstick Jungle fans are a fairly lucky bunch. Every time word spreads that the end of the sophomore dramedy is here, NBC executives speak up and say somebody forgot to tell them.
So it happens again this week, after the last scheduled episode of the series aired last Friday. NBC Universal production studio president Angela Bromstad tells TV Guide: “We officially have not canceled Lipstick Jungle. I think there are alternatives we may look into. It’s all a conversation for the fall.”
Whew! Now don’t ever claim that the clamoring of thousands of …read more

Lipstick Jungle: The End of the Road

Lipstick Jungle: The End of the Road

I’ve triple checked the last few days’ news from my usual television sources to no avail. So, in the absence of a last-minute reprieve, it appears we Lipstick Jungle fans have reached the end of the two-season road for the show.
Next (and apparently last) up is tonight’s finale “Chapter Twenty: La Vie En Pose,” which, judging from the plot description, doesn’t have anything final about it whatsoever. Does this mean fans will be left hanging with no closure for their favorite character(s)? Could be.
During the episode, Nico makes an appearance on NBC’s Today Show, which causes complications …read more

Lipstick Jungle: ‘Lovers’ Leaps’ Spoilers

There’s only two episodes left before Lipstick Jungle will have aired all twenty of the episodes ordered to date.
If you’re a fan of the series, that means you have two more episodes left to (1) make sure you tune in to the show to help increase its ratings and (2) send your letter of support outrage over the show’s presumed cancellation to:

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Moved Again

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Moved Again

If you’re one of the many viewers trying to show Lipstick Jungle some extra love now that the word is out its future is in danger at NBC, note that the network has relocated the show to a new time slot yet again.
Be happy, however, because on this occasion the change is a reward of sorts for the attention and increased ratings the series has earned following all of the recent interest in keeping it alive.
Effective the week after Thanksgiving, Lipstick will air its remaining four episodes an hour earlier on Fridays, at 9pm EST. The ultra boring historical-adventure …read more

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Hottie Robert Buckley Unhinged

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Hottie Robert Buckley Unhinged

I have no idea when the video after the jump was filmed or by whom, but it sure is fun to watch!
The clip in question shows Lipstick Jungle fan favorite Robert Buckley essentially throwing a hissy fit at work on the show, apparently in the wardrobe area. I wonder if he’s always like that when he doesn’t think the camera is rolling.
In any case, don’t forget: Although Lipstick isn’t officially canceled, fans still must watch the series to show their support. Increased ratings are the biggest gift viewers can give the cast and crew right now.

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Cancellation: Not So Fast

‘Lipstick Jungle’ Cancellation: Not So Fast

Remember how so many TV news outlets, including this one, reported last week that NBC had axed Lipstick Jungle? Well, it turns out we were wrong.
According to the NY Times and Lipstick star Brooke Shields herself, the series lives on, and the cast and crew can thank a significant uptick in viewership last Friday, as well as strident protests from a vocal group of loyal fans. I’m guessing the latter also made more than a few unaware followers realize the show had actually moved to a new night, not disappeared all together.
Says Shields: “They’re not breaking down the …read more
