Ghost Whisperer: ‘The Book of Changes’ Season Finale

Ghost Whisperer: ‘The Book of Changes’ Season Finale

This week has been overflowing with finales, but we’re down to just two now: Sunday’s two-hour Desperate Housewives event and tonight’s (May 15) Ghost Whisperer fourth-season closer called “The Book of Changes.” And, don’t worry, Team Melinda fans. Although the paranormal chiller hasn’t been officially renewed for Season Five yet, only the end of the world or the complete and shocking collapse of CBS could prevent it from happening.
During the episode, Melinda begins to worry about her unborn child after a typically unexpected visit from a ghost. Guest stars include Bruce Davison (Close to Home, The L …read more

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

It seems May 8th’s Dollhouse first-season finale “Omega” was indeed too little, too late. The show scored its lowest overnight ratings yet, giving the sci-fi drama a third-place finish in the 9–10pm ET hour, behind CBS’ Canadian crime procedural Flashpoint and NBC’s long-running primetime newsmagazine Dateline.
Overall, Team Whedon & Dushku brought in 2.75 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating/4 share among viewers aged 18–49, which is down an entire rating point and almost two million viewers from the February 13th series premiere “Ghost.” That initial episode attracted 4.72 million viewers and earned a 2.0/6.

Ghost Whisperer: ‘Thrilled to Death’ Preview

Ghost Whisperer: ‘Thrilled to Death’ Preview

Finally, after three weeks of nothing, a fresh episode of the Jennifer Love Hewitt drama Ghost Whisperer airs tonight at 8pm ET.
Called “Thrilled to Death,” I guess the big news — at least to a lotta other folks — is that it features guest star Hilary Duff.
The entertainer plays a woman named Morgan Jefferies, who may have something to do with a man dying and a ghost being unable to cross over. Ghost Whisperer’s CBS website goes one step further and calls Duff’s character a black widow. Nasty stuff.

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Life sure is a roller coaster when you’re Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse.
Despite no new episode of CBS’ hit Ghost Whisperer yet again on Friday, April 3 — the third week in a row — both sci-fi series failed to achieve any notable ratings gains. How incredibly frustrating in the case of Terminator, which premiered the fantabulous “Adam Raised a Cain,” the next-to-last episode of its second season and most likely the entire series, although it pains me to note the second reality.
“Adam Raised a Cain” attracted 3.35 million total viewers, down 12 percent from the previous …read more

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Tie It Up

Ratings Report: ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’ Tie It Up

Now this is getting fairly interesting. There was still no new episode of CBS’ Ghost Whisperer last Friday, March 27, which only served to make the performance of Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse all the more noticeable. Not only did my favorite series of the pair — Terminator, of course — experience a slight improvement in total viewers, but the Joss Whedon show had a downturn that put it in a virtual tie with the older show.
Do I sound snide if I say I don’t mind that outcome one bit? I hope not — I …read more

Ratings Report: Up We Go for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Ratings Report: Up We Go for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Well, it finally looks like all of the cries of woe and agony are starting to have an impact, and let’s hope it lasts much longer than just one week. For the first time since they made their Friday-night debut together back on February 13, both Terminator and Dollhouse experienced an increase in ratings on March 13 equalling 18 percent and 22 percent, respectively. Woot!
I guess one month was the charm. Yet, oddly enough, I found each series’ episode — The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ “Today Is the Day” and Dollhouse’s “True Believer” — on the weaker …read more

Ratings Results: Another Drop for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Sorry, my fellow Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse fans, there’s just no other way to put it. Given the preliminary March 6th primetime ratings, it looks like Fox’s Sci-Fi Friday reboot isn’t booting up either fast or hot enough.
The overnight numbers for both series’ fresh episodes last Friday indicate yet another drop in an already low number of viewers. I guess everybody was getting their action/sci-fi fix from the new graphic-novel flick Watchmen.
The good news is for Ghost Whisperer fans, of course and as always, which held steady ratings-wise with the new episode “Delusions of Grandview.” It …read more

Next on ‘Ghost Whisperer’: Delusions of Grandview

Poor Melinda. The next fresh episode of Ghost Whisperer, tonight’s “Delusions of Grandview,” will not find things going well for the spirit world medium, at least when it comes to her dead hubby Jim — aka Sam — after she reveals some big news to him.
Check out the promo after the jump and don’t forget to tune in at 8pm EST on CBS. As the season winds down, it really is beginning to get more and more difficult to predict how the whole Dead Jim and Melinda “finding love again” storyline will end.

The overnight ratings results for “Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep,” the February 27 episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles, just break my heart, and I’m talking about into tiny little pieces. Not only is the show slipping in total viewers — down from 3.84 million to 3.42 million over the last two episodes — but also among 18–49 year olds, whose numbers have declined from a 1.3/5 for February 20 to a 1.2/4 for last Friday. Waaaahhhh!
I understand, however. Although some folks like me don’t mind introspective fare — more popularly called “slow” — like …read more

Next on ‘Ghost Whisperer’: Ghost Busted

Next on ‘Ghost Whisperer’: Ghost Busted

Following a week off, there’s a new episode of Ghost Whisperer coming up tonight called “Ghost Busted.”
And, this one is a biggie because Melinda finally does something I think she should have done ages ago: She reveals to Dead Jim/Sam that she has a supernatural gift. However, the honesty doesn’t result in the reaction she expected, which pretty much tells us nothing.
Melinda has been so emotional and apprehensive about coming clean ever since Dead Jim jumped into Sam’s dead body, she acts one way in one scene and then an entirely different way in the next scene. So, …read more
