‘Dollhouse’s Amy Acker in ‘Happy Town’ at ABC

‘Dollhouse’s Amy Acker in ‘Happy Town’ at ABC

Today is a darn good day for Dollhouse fans. In yet more Whedonverse news, Eliza Dushku’s co-star Amy Acker, also known as super-bad Active Whiskey and super-talented Dr. Claire Saunders around the Doll facility, has reportedly scored a new show.
Chatter indicates ABC has picked up the pilot for her small-town murder mystery Happy Town for the 2009–2010 season. As with most of the fall-schedule news leaked online recently, an official announcement is expected next week during the broadcast networks’ upfront presentations, which will probably include scheduling details, as well.
In the meantime, Happy Town is from the same creative …read more

Renewal Rumor: Fox Gives ‘Dollhouse’ Second Season

Renewal Rumor: Fox Gives ‘Dollhouse’ Second Season

Cellar-level ratings be damned, Fox has reportedly done the unthinkable — at least in many numbers watchers’ eyes — and renewed Joss Whedon’s sci-fi series Dollhouse for a second season of 13 episodes, reportedly to air on the show’s original day of Fridays in the fall.
Nice! If true, an official announcement will likely follow next week during the broadcast networks’ upfront presentations or possibly even over the weekend. Now, if only such spectacular news were in store for that other Fox sci-fi series called The Sarah Connor Chronicles, too.

Wanna Help Save ‘Dollhouse’?

Wanna Help Save ‘Dollhouse’?

True, the ratings for Joss Whedon’s latest fantasy series Dollhouse were pitiful, but ardent fans are starting a grassroots campaign anyway to help prompt Fox to renew the show for a second season.
Visit Save the Dollhouse for full information on how to participate.
The main effort involves purchasing dolls that resemble cast members — such as the Eliza Dushku doll for Faith in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer action figure line, Amy Acker as Fred Burkle in the Angel line, and Tahmoh Penikett as Helo in the Battlestar Galactica line — and sending them to Kevin Reilly, Fox Broadcasting Entertainment Group …read more

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

Ratings Report: ‘Dollhouse’ Season Finale Lower Than ‘Sarah Connor’

It seems May 8th’s Dollhouse first-season finale “Omega” was indeed too little, too late. The show scored its lowest overnight ratings yet, giving the sci-fi drama a third-place finish in the 9–10pm ET hour, behind CBS’ Canadian crime procedural Flashpoint and NBC’s long-running primetime newsmagazine Dateline.
Overall, Team Whedon & Dushku brought in 2.75 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating/4 share among viewers aged 18–49, which is down an entire rating point and almost two million viewers from the February 13th series premiere “Ghost.” That initial episode attracted 4.72 million viewers and earned a 2.0/6.

Dollhouse: ‘Omega’ Finale Preview

Dollhouse: ‘Omega’ Finale Preview

And here are some videos to go along with the earlier photo post for tonight’s (May Dollhouse finale “Omega.”
I’m writing in the wee hours of the morning, and Fox has only uploaded one sneak peek, which is labeled 1 of 3. I’ll update this post with the remaining two preview videos later, but you can also check the network’s YouTube channel directly.
Now on to the clips, including a new promo, after the jump. I call the first sneak peek Post Alpha Stress Disorder, otherwise known as PASD. ;D

The first-season finale for Joss Whedon’s rookie sci-fi series Dollhouse is upon us at last. Will the episode, “Omega,” also be the series finale? Nobody but Fox knows at the moment, and the network isn’t talking.
During the latest adventures in mind-wiping tonight (May at 9:01pm ET, Firefly and Serenity star Alan Tudyk returns to reprise his role as infamous, slash-happy Alpha. To the show’s credit, it did a pretty good job of concealing his true identity from viewers at the beginning of last week’s “Briar Rose.” Agoraphobia? Yeah, right!
Follow the jump for “Omega” spoilers…

There’s just one more installment left in the first season of Fox’s Dollhouse after tonight’s (May 1) fresh episode “Briar Rose” premieres. The last hour is the May 8th season finale “Omega,” which could double as the show’s series finale if a renewal doesn’t happen.
First things first, however. This week’s majorly fantastic guest star is none other than Firefly alum Alan Tudyk. The actor plays integral character Stephen Kepler, an agoraphobic (abnormal fear of crowds, open areas, and/or public space) designer who put his magic touch on the Dollhouse.
As Paul Ballard’s investigation leads him to Kepler, the …read more

Dollhouse goodies are in store tonight. Check out some pictures of Echo during her adventures solving her own murder while imprinted with the memories and personality of Adelle DeWitt’s murdered friend in the earlier photo post, and continue after the jump for not one, not two, not three, but four sneak peeks at “Haunted.”
Topher and Boyd discuss in the first, Echo takes her temporary identity to lunch with Adelle in the second, the ladies hang out some more in the third, and Topher and Sierra play games in the fourth.
Hmmm — I was hoping for a little butt-kicking. …read more

Heads-up, Eliza Dushku and Joss Whedon fans!
Fox’s Dollhouse returns tonight after a week off with a new episode called “Haunted.” The drama also has a different lead-in now, outgoing Prison Break, which, unfortunately, probably won’t do it any favors in the ratings department, considering the jailbird series performed even worse than The Sarah Connor Chronicles did before it in the 8pm time slot.
The description for “Haunted” (love that title — hooks me every time) is short and sweet: Echo is forced to solve her own murder when Adelle gets her wrapped up in some nonsense involving a murdered wealthy …read more

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Ratings Report: Mixed Bag for ‘Terminator’ and ‘Dollhouse’

Life sure is a roller coaster when you’re Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse.
Despite no new episode of CBS’ hit Ghost Whisperer yet again on Friday, April 3 — the third week in a row — both sci-fi series failed to achieve any notable ratings gains. How incredibly frustrating in the case of Terminator, which premiered the fantabulous “Adam Raised a Cain,” the next-to-last episode of its second season and most likely the entire series, although it pains me to note the second reality.
“Adam Raised a Cain” attracted 3.35 million total viewers, down 12 percent from the previous …read more
