NBC’s latest sitcom, an adaptation of the Australian hit, arrives Thursday night, October 9, at 8:30 pm EST, with Saturday Night Live veteran Molly Shannon starring as the title mother figure Kath and Hellboy’s Selma Blair as her daughter Kim.

NBC describes the series as the adventures of “the hilarious and iconoclastic mother-daughter duo — Kath, a cheerful, foxy, forty-something, and her self-absorbed daughter, Kim — who have the love/hate, push/pull dysfunctional relationship that only a mother and daughter could share.”

The Starter Wife will premiere as a two-hour episode on Friday, October 10, at 9pm EST on USA Network. The Emmy Award-winning hit original series stars Debra Messing (Will & Grace) in the post-divorce adventures of Molly Kagan (Messing) as she begins a new chapter in her life.

On the heels of its stellar ratings and awards success, USA has brought back the hit miniseries of 2007 as a series containing ten exciting episodes, with Emmy Award winner Messing returning to star and now serving as executive producer.
