HawthoRNe: ‘Healing Time’ Preview

HawthoRNe: ‘Healing Time’ Preview

It’s another day and another round of crises on “Healing Time,” the second episode of TNT’s new Jada Pinkett Smith medical drama HawthoRNe.
Some — okay, many — television writers are bashing the show for various reasons, the most common being that it’s not a darkly humorous, hip-aspiring clone of Showtime’s new Edie Falco medical comedy Nurse Jackie.
But why should it have to be? After viewing tonight’s (June 23) episode in advance, I’m enjoying the series more than I did during the pilot.

Kyra Sedgwick Honored with Walk of Fame Star

I know, I know — there’s been an awful lot of news related to The Closer lately. But this has been a pretty big week for series star Kyra Sedgwick.
Yesterday, June 8, the same day as her show’s very successful fifth-season premiere, Sedgwick made her way to California, where she received the 2,384th star on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Even better, her brand-new shiny honor is located right beside that belonging to her husband, film star Kevin Bacon, which is just too cool. What a great way to start a new season for her!

‘Fringe’ Star Anna Torv Softens Up for the Camera

Isn’t she lovely…? Hell, yeah!
Summer is almost here and we won’t be getting any new episodes of Fox’s hit crime chiller Fringe until the fall. What better time, then, to take a look at the softer side of series star Anna Torv, who plays Fringe Division FBI Agent Olivia Dunham, of course.
I remember back when the show was about to premiere last year, how impossible it was to find decent photos — or any photos at all — of the talented newcomer. So, that makes it even cooler that someone finally thought to throw a nice photo …read more

Well, the Season Three finale is almost upon us, My Boys fans.
This Tuesday, May 26, the TBS sitcom will close its current run with the episode “Spring Training.” Sure, it seems like the season just started a few weeks ago, but that’s because there were only nine episodes all together. Networks can get away with that kind of brevity on cable TV.

Very nice! Not only was tonight’s (May 19) fresh episode of My Boys called “Friends of Friends” directed by Wonder Years star Fred Savage, but it guest stars another well-known comedy figure, the one and only Martin Mull (Roseanne).
The episode revolves around PJ and her new friend Emily, a friend of Stephanie’s that PJ meets when she goes to Stephanie’s birthday party. Somehow, meeting Emily eventually causes PJ and Bobby to hope that Emily and her boyfriend will become their “couple friend.”
