Both entertainment icons died on Thursday, June 25.

Grrl TV Blog Off Wrap-Up

Grrl TV Blog Off Wrap-Up

If you came to the party late, Grrl TV and many other blogs in the b5media Entertainment Channel participated in a Blog Off last Friday, June 20, to benefit The Actors Fund. Our goal at each participating blog was to publish one post per hour over the 24 hours of June 20, and that’s exactly what I did.
The following is a summary of the posts I published during this important, fun, and draining event. Those who are interested can still make donations to The Actors Fund at the Donate Now page; it’s never too late to support such …read more

United Kingdom Tells Martha Stewart to Stay Away

United Kingdom Tells Martha Stewart to Stay Away

No, we don’t watch the daytime show of homemaker extraordinaire (and extraordinarily rich) Martha Stewart here at Grrl TV on a regular basis.
But we know who she is, we think she’s very pretty, and we’re slightly interested when we learn that an entire country has banned her, like the United Kingdom reportedly did somewhere around the present time when it refused to grant her a visa to step foot on its turf.
Why, you ask? Well, in case you hadn’t heard, dear Martha is a convicted crook and has been for a while now.
It’s really too bad, too, because if …read more

Tatum O’Neal Still Has Her ‘Rescue Me’ Gig Despite Arrest

Tatum O’Neal Still Has Her ‘Rescue Me’ Gig Despite Arrest

Remember back at the beginning of this month, when Oscar-winning actress Tatum O’Neal was arrested for trying to buy illegal drugs on a New York City street? Well, if you thought such a public criminal incident would have a negative impact on her career, you were wrong.
According to TV Guide, it’s like nothing has happened when it comes to the people who run her most recent show, the FX dramedy Rescue Me. O’Neal plays the substance-abusing, loudmouthed sister of star Denis Leary’s character on the series, and cocreator Peter Tolan expects the actress to return to complete relevant …read more

Lifetime Celebrates Father’s Day

Lifetime Celebrates Father’s Day

Basic cable’s Lifetime may be known as a network with programming geared specifically towards women, but this weekend, in recognition of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 15, it’s taking time to celebrate the men in families who are parents. As a result, this Saturday and Sunday, viewers will be treated to a special Bad Dad/Good Dad themed movie weekend.
On the small screen, Saturday is devoted to bad dads, while Sunday will flip to the opposite side, focusing on good dads. Of particular note on the second day is the encore presentation of Lifetime Movie Network’s excellent first original …read more

Actress Tatum O’Neal Busted

Actress Tatum O’Neal Busted

How’s this for embarrassing?
Recently, Actress Tatum O’Neal has been seen mostly in her recurring role on Denis Leary’s FX dramedy Rescue Me. The 44-year-old daughter of Ryan O’Neal is also the youngest Oscar winner ever following her win for Paper Moon at the tender age of ten. Now the ex-wife of tennis legend John McEnroe can add crack and cocaine arrestee to that impressive resume after getting caught red-handed yesterday buying the drugs from a dealer near her upscale apartment in lower Manhattan.
Shocking as the arrest alone is, the embarrassing part I refer to above is O’Neal’s reported …read more

Drea de Matteo Blames ‘Joey’ for Stalled Career

Drea de Matteo Blames ‘Joey’ for Stalled Career

Can one television show really derail a career if an entertainer is talented, professional, and has no (or few visible) personality problems? Hmmm… That just might be the question when it comes to the latest news straight from the New York Post’s infamous Page Six gossip column.
Actress Drea de Matteo was allegedly overheard complaining in Manhattan that since appearing on the canceled NBC sitcom Joey, the overhyped series that starred then-fresh Friends alum Matt LeBlanc, her career has been pretty much kaput.
Prior to that failed series, the New York native had an Emmy-winning supporting role on The Sopranos …read more
