Stephanie March Back for More ‘SVU’ Next Season

How’s this for good news? According to Entertainment Weekly, former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit regular cast member Stephanie March is returning to the show for a recurring gig during its upcoming 11th season.
If the report is true and accurate, March has already signed on the dotted line to reprise her role as New York Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot. She’ll stick around for at least ten episodes, and when she’s not around stretching her dedicated legal fingers to put crooks in the slammer where they belong, there will reportedly be one or more new characters on hand to …read more

‘Ugly Betty’s Rebecca Romijn Completes ‘Eastwick’ Cast

‘Ugly Betty’s Rebecca Romijn Completes ‘Eastwick’ Cast

ABC has finally found the third witch to headline its forthcoming drama pilot Eastwick and her name is Rebecca Romijn, former star of television series like Ugly Betty and Pepper Dennis. I, for one, think this is excellent casting, especially given the retired supermodel’s nice work as Mystique in the X-Men film trilogy. Why didn’t I realize she’s perfect for a witch role before this development?
According to Variety, Romijn will play Roxie Torcoletti, the lead character among a trio of women with paranormal abilities. As previously reported, Lipstick Jungle’s Lindsay Price and Veronica Mars’ Jaime Ray Newman …read more

‘Swingtown’s Molly Parker Joins HBO Pilot

‘Swingtown’s Molly Parker Joins HBO Pilot

Today brings good news for TV viewers who loved CBS’ canceled 1970s-era drama Swingtown and only wish the best for the show’s cast now that the series is kaput. Star Molly Parker, also known as sweet Susan Miller to us incurable TV swingers, has been added to the cast of HBO’s forthcoming pilot The Wonderful Maladys.
The potential series is attracting lots of attention in large part because it stars Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna Sarah Michelle Gellar. A comedy, the New York-based show follows the (mis)adventures of three parentless siblings who have one of those always interesting dysfunctional …read more

Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Kim Raver Is in ‘The Box’

There’s more telling news today for fans of NBC’s apparently increasingly endangered dramedy Lipstick Jungle.
Following last week’s development that Lipstick star Lindsay Price has joined the pilot for the promising potential ABC series The Witches of Eastwick as a lead character comes the recent announcement that her costar Kim Raver has joined another equally promising potential ABC series as — get this — a lead character. Whoa!
In Raver’s case, the pilot is for Inside the Box, the network-news project heavily associated with Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes, although she’s just an executive producer for it. …read more

‘Melrose Place’ Cast Coming Along

‘Melrose Place’ Cast Coming Along

Sometimes it seems like TV network executives have never seen an old show they don’t want to remake or adapt. Last week, The CW ordered a pilot for its adaptation of the 1992–1999 Fox series Melrose Place, which was a spinoff of the 1990-2000 Fox hit Beverly Hills, 90210, the inspiration for the network’s current high-profile rookie 90210.
Now that the pilot is a done deal, casting is in full swing for the drama about a group of California-based people in their twenties. Swingtown and Greek’s Michael Rady was the first actor to join the pilot cast last week. …read more

Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Lindsay Price Is a Witch of ‘Eastwick’

Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Lindsay Price Is a Witch of ‘Eastwick’

This week brings very bad news for fans of Lipstick Jungle.
Although both NBC executives and Lipstick cast members have recently assured loyal followers that the dramedy definitely is not officially over, what are we supposed to think when one of the three stars joins the cast of another high-profile potential series? Certainly nothing good about Lipstick’s future.
I’m referring to the recent development that actress Lindsay Price, also known as Lipstick’s resident fashion designer and incurable romantic Victory Ford, has a new gig as one of the three female stars of ABC’s pilot for the drama Eastwick.
The project is a …read more

TNT Jada Pinkett Smith Drama Adds ‘Alias’ Alum Michael Vartan

TNT Jada Pinkett Smith Drama Adds ‘Alias’ Alum Michael Vartan

Here’s some excellent casting news for a series we haven’t even seen yet. Back in September, I wrote about Jada Pinkett Smith’s potential TNT original drama Time Heals, which has since become a reality. Now comes news that Alias and Big Shots alum Michael Vartan, a perennial fan favorite, has joined the cast of the series as a replacement for Jeffrey Nordling (Dirt, 24), who played the same role in the pilot.
Time Heals stars Smith as Christina Hawthorne, a recent widow, single mother of a difficult teenager daughter, and passionate nurse who has a big conscious and lots …read more

Neve Campbell Hooking Up with ‘The Philanthropist’

Neve Campbell Hooking Up with ‘The Philanthropist’

Anybody else out there been jonesing over the years for Party of Five alumna Neve Campbell to grace the tube again with her presence? Well, your wish is about to come true, if things work out.
According to reports, the actress is thisclose to putting the finishing touches on the paperwork for a role in NBC’s upcoming James Purefoy (Rome) drama The Philanthropist. Almost as sweet, her character would be the wife of one Philip Maidstone, the character played by suave Law & Order alum Jesse L. Martin. Nice! I think I’m more excited about having him …read more

Just Another ‘90210’ Cast Member

Just Another ‘90210’ Cast Member

It looks like The CW’s 90210 will have a new girl in town soon.
In real life, the 22-year-old Canadian actress who plays the recurring character goes by the name Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Edgemont; pictured at right in the photo). On the apparent hit series — at least so far — she’ll play intelligent, witty transfer student Kimberly, who has a big secret (thank goodness!) and will eventually hook up with one of the male characters. Note that the last part doesn’t specify the person will be a fellow student, which means the field is wide open.
So, …read more
