And the 2008 Actress Emmy Winners Are…
Let’s get right to the list of lucky ladies who took home shiny statuettes at the end of Sunday’s 60th Primetime Emmys ceremony. I think the actresses selected represent a nice, talented crop, so not many complaints from me beyond the usual annual grumbling about the thespians who were undeservedly overlooked all together.
I must, however, give a special shout-out to the two guest-star winners: Kathryn Joosten (The West Wing) for her comedic performance as Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives and Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) for her dramatic turn as severely mentally disturbed perpetrator Janis Donovan on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Both women are so good in so many ways, no matter what TV show or movie they appear in. I’m thrilled they received this honor for just a part of their larger body of work.
