Two-Hour ‘Ugly Betty’ Finale Coming Up

Ugly BettyWell, how about that new Friday-night slot for 2009–2010, huh?

It’s nearly time for Ugly Betty’s May 21 Season Three finale, a two-hour event from 8pm to 10pm ET that consists of the episodes “Curveball” and “The Fall Issue.” The headline in bright flashing lights? Just as Betty and Matt Get Ready to Move in Together, Henry Comes Back in Town. Talk about (im)perfect timing.

In the first hour, Henry (Christopher Gorham) visits New York City just as Betty agrees to move in with Matt, forcing Betty to admit she still has feelings for her former almost husband.

Meanwhile, Betty and Marc wait to see if their YETI editor interviews resulted in actual jobs; Daniel’s transformation from playboy to devoted husband makes him a media darling; and Wilhelmina cozies up to Victoria Hartley (Christine Baranski) to find out just what kind of connection Claire Meade has to Cal Hartley (David Rasche).

Then during the second hour, the sudden death of a Mode editor leaves Betty and Marc competing for the same job. Elsewhere, Wilhelmina demands that Claire resign at an important awards ceremony if she doesn’t want her secret revealed to Cal Hartley; Matt is overcome with jealousy over Henry; and Justin is anxious to learn if he was accepted at performing arts school.

Guest stars on “Curveball” include Bernadette Peters as Jodie, and Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Billie Jean King as themselves. “The Fall Issue” also features visits from Ralph Macchio as Archie Rodriguez, Rachel Dratch as Penny and Mindy Meadows, and Antonio Sabato Jr., Nigel Barker, Rachel Maddow, and Robert Verdi as themselves. Plus, the finale proper was written by executive producer Silvio Horta. Going out in style!

Continue below for two sneak peeks: Awkward, featuring Betty and Henry running into each other out of the blue, and Move In, featuring an intimate moment between Betty and Matt, capped off by a hoot courtesy of Amanda.

Ugly Betty airs Thursdays on ABC at 8pm EST.
