Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Kim Raver Is in ‘The Box’
There’s more telling news today for fans of NBC’s apparently increasingly endangered dramedy Lipstick Jungle.
Following last week’s development that Lipstick star Lindsay Price has joined the pilot for the promising potential ABC series The Witches of Eastwick as a lead character comes the recent announcement that her costar Kim Raver has joined another equally promising potential ABC series as — get this — a lead character. Whoa!
In Raver’s case, the pilot is for Inside the Box, the network-news project heavily associated with Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes, although she’s just an executive producer for it. Raver will play an attractive reporter named Samantha who used to have serious TV-news star prospects. There’s no word on where those prospects went, so maybe we’ll learn all about it if the Washington-set drama is picked up as a full series, which seems more likely than not considering Rhimes’ involvement.
Of course, none of this is good news for viewers who want a third season of Lipstick Jungle. Nonetheless, you have to admit it’s great that the stars of the show are moving on to other viable, big-name projects. It would be so much worse if Lipstick were canceled and the cast members had a hard time finding replacement jobs worthy of their talent. The glass seems half full in that respect.
