Uh-Oh, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Fans – Lindsay Price Is a Witch of ‘Eastwick’

Lindsay Price/Lipstick JungleThis week brings very bad news for fans of Lipstick Jungle.

Although both NBC executives and Lipstick cast members have recently assured loyal followers that the dramedy definitely is not officially over, what are we supposed to think when one of the three stars joins the cast of another high-profile potential series? Certainly nothing good about Lipstick’s future.

I’m referring to the recent development that actress Lindsay Price, also known as Lipstick’s resident fashion designer and incurable romantic Victory Ford, has a new gig as one of the three female stars of ABC’s pilot for the drama Eastwick.

The project is a remake of the entertaining 1987 feature film of the same name (which was based on the 1984 John Updike novel of the same name) starring Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer as a trio of single women who simultaneously develop supernatural powers after splitting with their husbands. There’s nothing subtle here about the concept of female empowerment.

Price, who will play shy newspaper reporter Joanna, joins previously cast actress and fellow on-screen witch Jaime Ray Newman (Lincoln Heights, Veronica Mars). Despite the bad outlook Price’s new gig means for Lipstick Jungle’s third season, I have to admit I’m looking forward to Witches. You can never have too much paranormal stuff on TV, as far as I’m concerned. Still, it would be great to have both Witches and Lipstick around the tube at the same time.
