‘Lipstick Jungle’ Gets Welcome Reprieve
When you think about it, Lipstick Jungle fans are a fairly lucky bunch. Every time word spreads that the end of the sophomore dramedy is here, NBC executives speak up and say somebody forgot to tell them.
So it happens again this week, after the last scheduled episode of the series aired last Friday. NBC Universal production studio president Angela Bromstad tells TV Guide: “We officially have not canceled Lipstick Jungle. I think there are alternatives we may look into. It’s all a conversation for the fall.”
Whew! Now don’t ever claim that the clamoring of thousands of irate fans doesn’t have an impact.
Actually, I’d like to believe the large and loud fan base for the show had a great deal to do with this development, as well as lots of surprising support from non-watchers with common sense, such as Broadcasting & Cable columnist Ben Grossman, who claims to have never seen a single episode.
Congratulations, Lipstick lovers! It looks likely the Jungle might live to air another new episode after all!
