Desperate Housewives: Beau Bridges Headlines 100th Episode
Tonight is the night we Desperate Housewives fans have all been waiting for: the premiere of the show’s much-deserved 100th episode. The hallmark is titled “The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened,” and it was co-written by series creator Marc Cherry.
Brenda Strong’s Mary Alice Young is back on-screen for the occasion. Steven Culp’s Rex Van De Kamp is back. Christine Estabrook’s Martha Huber is back. Lucille Song’s Yao Lin is back. And, topping it all off, actor extraordinaire Beau Bridges is the very special guest star.
Bridges plays local handyman Eli Scruggs, who is discovered dead during a stint working for Susan. As a result of his unexpected demise, the ladies of Wisteria Lane each reflect on the substantial impact he had on their lives ten years ago.
Apparently, Eli saved Gaby from missing out on the opportunity to befriend her current BFFs when she first moved to the neighborhood, he comforted Susan after every one of her somewhat frequent heartbreaking breakups, he planted the seed that gradually turned Bree into the domestic diva she is now, and he counseled Lynette when she was worn out by motherhood. Heck, he was even friends with Edie, which says a whole lot about his personal charms.
Sneak seven peaks at what’s coming up in the preview clips after the jump, and by all means, don’t forget to tune in to the special episode tonight at 9pm EST. The only way I’ll miss it is if my TV or power conks out.
Desperate Housewives airs Sundays on ABC at 9pm EST.
