Rock Out with a Friday-Night ‘Sanctuary’ Mini-Marathon

SanctuaryOoh la la! Although I’d prefer a regular new episode of Stargate Atlantis at 9pm EST — who doubts that Teyla kicks butt, while Dr. Jennifer is just sweetness through and through? — I’ll take what Sci Fi Channel has in store for viewers this Friday night instead.

In the absence of fresh Atlantis, the network is giving us four episodes in a row of Sanctuary. Best of all, the fourth one at 10pm EST is a new installment, as usual.

The evening of magnificent Magnus adventures begins at 7pm with the third episode of the season, “Fata Morgana.” That’s followed at 8pm by the seventh, “The Five,” and then the tenth, last week’s “Warriors,” at 9pm.

Rekha Sharma/Battlestar GalacticaRounding out the night at 10pm is the new episode “Instinct,” which features Battlestar Galactica sleeper Cylon Tory Foster, better known as actress Rekha Sharma in the real world, as a reporter named Amy Saunders who observes the pursuit of a quite unique and very deadly type of abnormal.

My skin is tingling in anticipation already — I love, love, love this show, and have since the beginning, in part because of the way it keeps bringing on cast members from other Sci Fi Channel series as guest stars.

According to the current official schedule, Sanctuary takes a Christmas break next week, returning on January 2 and January 9 to air Parts 1 and 2 of the two-part first-season finale called “Revelations.” So, now is the perfect time to play catch-up with a mini-marathon.

And, if you haven’t already heard — yes, Team Tapping will be back with a second season of thirteen episodes next year! Needless to say — but I will anyway — I’m thrilled.

Looking forward to the Sanctuary marathon AND the new episode on Friday night as well, Chandra!

And Peter Wingfield guest stars in Revelations, Parts 1 & 2 as Dr. James Watson — one of the infamous Five (and maybe one of Helen’s ex-lovers?).

Many thanks for the heads-up, Morjana! Now I’m looking forward to the season finale more than ever — Peter Wingfield is exquisite casting for The Five.

This show is really exceeding itself in booking fantastic guest stars.
