After watching this show for 4 seasons, I am amazed at how I often accept such silly premises. I never watch network tv, and only started watching this show because they filmed the pilot right here in the town where I live. So I guess my expectations aren't too high, and yes, I agree with you--I enjoyed the episode, despite all its silly inconsistencies. I guess when you eat a Twinkie, you aren't expecting flavorful nuances.

You make some excellent points, Maxwill, especially with regards to Sam being too-perfectly unattached, not to mention being so willing to not remember his old life.

I was surprised, though, at how tolerable I found this particular episode. It was great to see both David Conrad and Camryn Manheim figuring more prominently in a plot.

As for next week, there will be an episode of Ghost Whisperer, but it's a repeat of the Bloody Mary installment "Don't Try This At Home" from the beginning of the third season. The next new episode is "Pieces of You" on December 5.

Well, OK, I just watched this episode--I realize this program is not exactly high art and is not meant to be taken seriously, but I expect the writers to adhere to some sort of real-life logic when they create plots. So having Dead Jim leap into the body of a car-crash victim seems a bit of a stretch. I mean, if the accident damaged Sam's body enough for Sam to "give up the ghost," so to speak, then WHY would this same body sustain life merely because Dead Jim's spirit leapt into Sam's spirit void? If the damaged body couldn't support Sam, how does it support Dead Jim?? Also, how convenient that Dead Jim picked a totally unattached newly-dead guy for his impromptu reincarnation. What if Sam was a married dad of 4??? Would Melinda be forced to break up a family? Of course, I must admit, I am glad Jim's still onthe show. He's a doll. I saw no preview for episode 9, so I'm guessing next Friday will be Ghost Whisper-less?
