Although Monday, September 1, is a national holiday, Labor Day, in the United States, there will still be a brand-new episode of The Closer called “Split Ends.”
On this “hair-raising” installment, Team Brenda investigates the murder of a hairstylist for a TV show who also has a disturbing background filled with abuse. And if that’s not enough — an abused woman — to irritate Brenda, then how about another visit from her wonderful but slightly meddling parents? You can just predict the detective’s overwhelming anxiety already.

We don’t have much longer before the two-hour September 9th premiere of Fox’s Fringe, and momentum is steadily (and, I think, deservedly) building. Increase the good times this weekend by taking a look at the following five videos detailing the real-life fringe science woven into the show’s spooky mythology.
Isn’t it odd how a series that hasn’t even started yet already has a mythology, not to mention a massive cult following? Nice! It wouldn’t have been possible without the Internet.

Don’t let the title of this episode of Swingtown, “Surprise,” fool you because there are actually precious few surprises in it. Actually, the title of this post is kind of inaccurate since there’s really not much to spoil. Swingtown returns tonight after an almost two-week absence with the next-to-last episode of the season — or is that series? — “Surprise.” Here’s what CBS says it’s all about:
“A surprise party for Janet sparks shocking revelations between the neighbors.”
Really. That’s it. And since that’s not much at all, how about a little totally non-erotic, kiddie strip poker after the jump?

Well, if I’m going to blog about Grrl TV, I have to give a huge shout-out to the three amazing actresses who make up almost half of the cast of TNT’s Saving Grace.
Sure, Academy Award winner Holly Hunter is a huge draw as Oklahoma City Police Department Detective Grace Hanadarko. But that doesn’t diminish the talent or accomplishments of her equally fantastic co-stars Laura San Giacomo (Just Shoot Me!, Veronica Mars) and Lorraine Toussaint (Ugly Betty, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, Any Day Now). You gotta love these women and the characters they play.

ABC recently announced the network is turning five potential shows into full-fledged series. We Grrl TV lovers are in luck because two of those new pickups star fan favorites Amber Tamblyn, of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Joan of Arcadia popularity, and Alyssa Milano, of Charmed and Who’s the Boss? fame.
Amber’s series is an hourlong crime-procedural dramedy called The Unusuals that sounds like it’s in the funny vein of USA Network’s Monk, for instance. Alyssa’s show, on the other hand, is a half-hour sitcom called Single with Parents. It co-stars veteran actor Beau Bridges, who also …read more

Getting anxious for next Tuesday’s two-hour series premiere of 90210? E! Online to the rescue then!
The entertainment website recently posted a video containing a bit of dish and a preview for the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff. Take a peek after the jump and then drop a comment sharing what you think.
