Tricia Helfer Strikes Some Poses at Comic-Con 2008

Former model and current Battlestar Galactica and Burn Notice star Tricia Helfer was at the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2008.
The photographers present were understandably all over the lovely Canadian, and she graciously struck more than a few poses for their cameras.
Follow the jump to see why Helfer is one of television’s most captivating presences. Of course, if you’re a fan, you already know that, but you might enjoy the snaps all the same.

My Boys: ‘Jack and Bobby’ Preview (7-31-08)

My Boys: ‘Jack and Bobby’ Preview (7-31-08)

Next week’s episode of My Boys is the show’s second-season finale, so enjoy the July 31 episode, “Jack and Bobby,” as much as you can.
When the entire gang goes to Bobby’s flirtatious father’s California ranch for Bobby’s wedding, tension develops between the groom and his brother Jack, who’s pursuing PJ.
Meanwhile, Mike gets lucky with an older woman (Guest Star Mimi Rogers), and a bout of kidney stones ruins the occasion for someone else.
Take a look at a preview scene for the episode after the jump.

Saving Grace: ‘It’s a Fierce, White-Hot, Mighty Love’ Preview (8-4-08)

Saving Grace: ‘It’s a Fierce, White-Hot, Mighty Love’ Preview (8-4-08)

The August 4 episode of Saving Grace has the cool, if lengthy, title “It’s a Fierce, White-Hot, Mighty Love.”
Maybe the title is so long because there’s so many plotlines. Grace will become involved with the disappearance of a mother of two, and one of the children’s story about the disappearance will set off alarm bells in the cop.
Meanwhile, Grace’s young nephew Clay will ignore his father’s wishes and join the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Police Explorer program.
And elsewhere, Grace’s colleague Butch will find himself the focus of a stalker who seems affiliated with the squad. Now that’s scary.

Saving Grace: 2.3 ‘A Little Hometown Love’ Review

Saving Grace: 2.3 ‘A Little Hometown Love’ Review

Original Air Date: July 28, 2008
I don’t know if it was because I was coming off of the intense high of The Closer’s preceding episode “Cherry Bomb” or if it was because something is changing on Saving Grace, but to my great surprise, I actually enjoyed an episode of Holly Hunter’s show all the way through. This is a first, and an amazing one at that, at least for a TV watcher like me who didn’t last past the halfway mark of Saving Grace’s first season.
The episode opens with Grace having a recurring dream about her and Leon Cooley …read more

The Closer: 4.3 ‘Cherry Bomb’ Review

The Closer: 4.3 ‘Cherry Bomb’ Review

Original Air Date: July 28, 2008
What a harrowing, nasty, infuriating, chilling episode of The Closer this is. It also gives central character Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson and the actress who plays her — Kyra Sedgwick, of course — a chance to shine as the transplanted Southern cop sets her sights on getting a confession out of a wealthy and connected teenage rapist after his 16-year-old victim Michelle Clarke, played by Desperate Housewives’ Andrea Bowen, commits suicide.
Rape cases are hard enough to resolve in the victim’s favor when the injured party is alive. But Commander Taylor is especially moved …read more

In Plain Sight: 1.9 ‘Good Cop, Dead Cop’ Review

In Plain Sight: 1.9 ‘Good Cop, Dead Cop’ Review

Original Air Date: July 27, 2008
I really enjoyed this episode of In Plain Sight, mostly because of guest star Jason Wiles — the actor behind Bosco on Third Watch — who is always 110 percent entertaining to watch.
The opening scene, which could have come straight from Wiles’ old series, takes place sixteen months ago in Chicago. After Wiles’ cop character Robert Patrone chases a suspect and attempts to plant evidence on him, he’s shot in the back by his partner before he returns fire and kills his colleague.
We then learn Robert has ratted out his fellow officers due to pressure …read more

Army Wives: 2.8 ‘Loyalties’ Review

Army Wives: 2.8 ‘Loyalties’ Review

Original Air Date: July 27, 2008
This episode of Army Wives has so much going on I can barely believe the showrunners managed to squeeze in all of the separate plotlines.
Chase and some of his Delta Force colleagues are arrested, leaving Pamela stunned and confused. It’s easy to feel for her, especially since the military police arrive at night when the Moran family is asleep and refuse to tell her what the charges are.
Pamela, an ex Boston cop, eventually learns from Carla — whose husband Steve was arrested, too, along with Jill’s — that their husbands are suspected of war …read more

More Photos of ‘Dollhouse’ Star Eliza Dushku at Comic-Con 2008

Either the photographers present gave Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku much love at the recent San Diego Comic-Con International 2008 or the woman was just everywhere. Whichever was the case, I’ve got yet more photos of the actress after the jump taken during the Dollhouse Panel presentation on Saturday, July 26.
She’s even got that Lucy Lawless thing going on, pulling faces left and right in a few of the snaps. I would love to know what was being discussed at those moments. Too bad the photos don’t come with an audio track.
And for those who might not know, …read more

‘Battlestar Galactica’ Star Katee Sackhoff at Comic-Con 2008

Awww! Doesn’t she look nice? I love seeing Sackhoff in feminine mode. This photo was snapped at the Entertainment Weekly and Sci Fi Channel party on Saturday, July 26, of San Diego Comic-Con International 2008.

‘Fringe’ Star Anna Torv at Comic-Con 2008

‘Fringe’ Star Anna Torv at Comic-Con 2008

You would not believe how difficult it is to find photos of Australian actress Anna Torv, who headlines probably the most buzzed-about new show of the upcoming Fall season, J.J. Abrams’ Fringe. She plays the character Olivia Dunham, an FBI agent who I’m getting more and more eager to see in action each time I watch one of those ubiquitous promos.
Torv and her fellow cast members attended the recently ended 2008 edition of Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, to participate in a panel presentation for the show. Follow the jump if you’d like to check out some …read more
