And the Newest ‘Ghost Whisperer’ Cast Member Is…
…Jamie Kennedy!
When Jennifer Love Hewitt’s paranormal drama Ghost Whisperer returns in the fall for its fourth season on CBS, the series will have comedian-actor Kennedy onboard as a new regular. Of course, his arrival is a direct result of last-season regular Jay Mohr’s move to the rookie CBS sitcom Project Gary, where he’ll star as the title character.
Mohr’s Professor Rick Payne is scheduled to appear on a couple of Ghost Whisperer episodes at the beginning of Season Four, and his absence will then be explained as a leave on sabbatical. Kennedy will play a graduate student named Eli who befriends Hewitt’s Melinda, although its not certain what the newcomer’s relationship will be to Payne.
As a longtime Kennedy fan, I think this casting is great news. If his name and picture don’t ring an immediate bell, you might recall his past dramatic work in action movies like Bait with Jamie Foxx, Three Kings with George Clooney, and Enemy of the State with Will Smith, not to mention his television efforts on the too short-lived Candid Camera/Punk’d-style series The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.
I’ve no doubt that Kennedy will bring nothing but good things to Ghost Whisperer, so I look forward to having him around on the show.
