Lori Loughlin on Shannen Doherty’s ‘90210’ Chances: Nil

Lori Loughlin
Actress Lori Loughlin, who has a plum starring role as central matriarch Celia Mills on The CW’s 90210 spinoff, is eager to work with many of the cast members from the original Fox series Beverly Hills, 90210. That list includes Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, who’ve already been cast in recurring and cameo roles, respectively, as well as Luke Perry and presumably Jason Priestley and Ian Ziering.

But when it comes to Shannen Doherty, also known as Brenda Walsh to fans of the earlier show, Loughlin reportedly tells OK! Magazine, “I don’t think anyone wants to touch that.”

Ouch! I sincerely hope I’m misinterpreting because if not, that response is cold! Loughlin couldn’t even use the female pronoun “her” to refer to Doherty and instead resorts to the one you use for objects. Should Doherty turn up on the show eventually, my money is on a few sparks flying between the two actresses either off-camera or on.

Say what you want, but Doherty owned her role during her four seasons on Beverly Hills, 90210. I, for one, would be happy to see her return, even for just a cameo. Of course, we all know how unlikely that is, though…
