Kristi Yamaguchi Victorious on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Congrats, Kristi!
On Tuesday night, 36-year-old retired figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas triumphed on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. As a result, the Olympic gold medalist became only the second female winner of the competition in its six-season history. Incidentally, the first winner (female or not), Season One’s Kelly Monaco (General Hospital), also has a name that starts with k. Weird, huh?
Entertainment Weekly recaps the season finale pretty nicely, something I can’t do since I haven’t watched the show at all this season. I checked out Season Five — the one that another pro ice skater, Apolo Ohno, won — and it will forever remain the only time I’ve followed the show for an entire run. I’m more of a So You Think You Can Dance kinda girl (which premieres its fourth season this Thursday night, actually, in case you didn’t know).
I was checking out another guest on Ellen DeGeneres‘ morning talk show one day last month, and Kristi and Mark happened to be guests. They treated the audience to a performance, and it was so good, I clipped it. I’m not surprised at all that she won because Kristi can go! See for yourself after the jump.

I totally loved her on this show. It was slightly unfair since she is so good and really kind of trained as a dancer. I wonder if we are not going to see a resurrgance of Kristie? It would be fun to see her judge a show, like maybe come on as a guest judge of america’s got talent. that would be cool.
I agree — Kristi would definitely make a great judge on a talent show like Sharon’s.
Hey, cool, you commented back. I love it. I wanted to find this post to say that there’s this amazing article in the New York Post this morning about America’s Got Talent. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post the link here but when I woke up and read it this morning it made me even more excited to watch the show tonight. Here’s the link in case you’re interested: Click here
Links to interesting, relevant articles are always welcome. Thanks very much for sharing! Now anybody who stops by can learn more about the show. Linda Stasi’s rave review has me worked up to see the show, too.
Now that Dancing with the Stars is over, I checked out America’s Got Talent tonight. I loved it! Check it out next Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
